Domenicali values every F1 team above $2 billion
Image via grandprix.comStefano Domenicali, the chief executive of Formula 1, has stated that every team in the championship is now valued at over $2 billion, reflecting significant changes in the sport's economics. He estimates that medium and larger teams could be worth between $4 billion and $6 billion, attributing this growth to factors such as the budget cap and improved prize money distribution. The entry of Cadillac has brought the total number of teams to 11, but Domenicali believes there is no room for a 12th team in the near future, as this would dilute the income of existing teams.
Domenicali also pointed out the positive trends in attendance and audience demographics, emphasizing the sport's expanding commercial appeal. He aims to attract one million spectators to the Shanghai Grand Prix over the next four years. The shift from a survival-focused business model to one where participation is a highly valued asset marks a significant evolution in Formula 1's landscape.
