F3 points leader: New F1 Spanish GP venue "incredible" to drive after test

Freddie Slater, the leader of the Formula 3 championship, praised the new Madrid circuit as 'incredible' following a test session held there. The Madrid circuit will debut as the host for the Spanish Grand Prix in September 2026, replacing Barcelona under a 10-year agreement. The F3 series is using this opportunity to prepare for its season finale, which will also take place at the same venue shortly after the Grand Prix weekend.

During the test, Slater achieved a top time of 1m50.343s, while Ugo Ugochukwu set the fastest lap on the second day at 1m49.034s. The circuit, which is 3.365 miles long and features 22 corners, has been described by Slater as one of the most enjoyable tracks he has experienced, highlighting its character and challenging layout.
