FIA announce controversial ADUO ruling as F1 title rivals learn their fate

The FIA has released the results of its second ADUO analysis period, confirming that Red Bull remains the benchmark engine in Formula 1. Mercedes is classified as being 2-4% behind, while Ferrari, Honda, and Audi are more than 4% behind, affecting their upgrade opportunities for the upcoming seasons.

As a result of the ruling, Mercedes will receive one additional upgrade in both 2026 and 2027, while Ferrari, Honda, and Audi will be granted two upgrades in each of those years. The FIA emphasized the thoroughness of their analysis process, indicating that they may evolve the ADUO system in future discussions with power unit manufacturers.
