FIA announces ADUO recipients as Period 2 results confirmed

The FIA has confirmed that Red Bull-Ford Powertrains maintains its status as the most powerful combustion engine in Formula 1, based on measurements taken from the Australian to Hungarian Grands Prix. Mercedes, Audi, Ferrari, and Honda will receive varying levels of Additional Development and Upgrade Opportunities (ADUO), with Mercedes being 2-4% behind Red Bull and the others more than 4% behind. Each of these manufacturers has utilized one ADUO token for engine upgrades since the last reporting period.

In terms of future upgrades, Mercedes will be granted one additional homologation in both 2026 and 2027, while Audi, Ferrari, and Honda will receive two additional homologations in the same years. The FIA has indicated that no further homologations will be granted due to the consistency of the results across reporting periods. The next review for ADUO will take place before the Mexico City Grand Prix, continuing the assessment of engine performance in the ongoing season.
