First Madring clues: red flag chaos, Monaco and Macau comparison, ‘most adrenaline of season’
Image via PlanetF1The Madring, set to host its inaugural Spanish Grand Prix in September 2026, faced significant challenges during Formula 3 testing, resulting in 19 red flags over two days. Most stoppages were caused by drivers making contact with barriers, particularly at the tight Turns 5, 6, and 17, leading to comparisons with the demanding circuits of Monaco and Macau. Despite the incidents, the new layout has received positive feedback from drivers, highlighting its adrenaline-inducing nature.
As the Formula 1 event approaches, preparations continue with the circuit featuring a mix of street and permanent racing elements. Notably, Turn 12, dubbed 'La Monumental', is set to become the longest banked corner in the sport. With Carlos Sainz as an ambassador and Ferrari being the only team to have tested there, the anticipation for the first race at the Madring is building.
