Gasly reawarded podium, Alpine appeal succeeds

Pierre Gasly's podium finish at the Monaco Grand Prix has been reinstated following a successful appeal by Alpine. Initially finishing third, Gasly was penalized for exceeding the pit-lane speed limit, which dropped him to seventh. However, new evidence presented during the appeal revealed that the official measurement used to assess his speed was incorrect, leading the FIA to overturn the penalties.

As a result of the appeal, Gasly moves back to third place, while Isack Hadjar drops to fourth. The appeal process highlighted discrepancies in the pit-lane measurement system, which Mercedes had previously raised concerns about. Alpine expressed appreciation for the FIA's transparency throughout the review process, while Mercedes voiced their frustration over the outcome.
