Ferrari’s Rafael Camara appears in Haas test as F1 2027 rumours swirl
Image via PlanetF1Rafael Camara, a Ferrari junior driver and reigning Formula 3 champion, took part in a private test with Haas at Portimão, amid speculation regarding the F1 2027 driver lineup. During the test, he was joined by Haas reserve driver Ryo Hirakawa and fellow contender Leonardo Fornaroli, as they drove the Haas VF-25 from the 2025 season over three days. Camara has recently improved his standing in the Formula 2 championship, winning a race at Spa and finishing on the podium in Hungary, narrowing the gap to the leader Nikola Tsolov to 22 points.
Ferrari's team principal, Fred Vasseur, emphasized the extensive support provided to Camara, which goes beyond financial backing. With Oliver Bearman likely to remain at Haas for the 2027 season, the future of Esteban Ocon is still in question. Fornaroli, who has also been highlighted as a promising driver, is in the mix for a potential seat, indicating a competitive environment as teams prepare for the upcoming season.
