Italian GP trophies revealed as 'ancient tradition' incorporated

The 2026 Italian Grand Prix will feature a unique trophy titled 'FRAGILE,' designed by the artistic duo vedovamazzei. This initiative is part of a multi-year project that commissions a new Italian artist each year to create the Monza race trophy, blending Formula 1 with contemporary art. The project, now in its sixth edition, was started by Pirelli in collaboration with the Pirelli HangarBicocca Museum of Contemporary Art.

The design of the trophy consists of a precarious stack of household items, symbolizing the transient nature of victory in racing. Vedovamazzei aims to reflect the community spirit of Formula 1 through this design, which combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. The Italian Grand Prix is scheduled for September 6, 2026, continuing a tradition of artistic collaboration in the sport.
