Image via Motorsport WeekThe inaugural IndyCar event in Markham saw Marcus Ericsson claim victory after a chaotic race filled with multiple caution periods. Despite a clean start, the race was interrupted by incidents, including crashes from Louis Foster and Kyle Kirkwood, both of whom were running in strong positions before their retirements. Ericsson's unique strategy of extending his second stint paid off as he overtook competitors in the final laps to secure the win.
Romain Grosjean led for a significant portion of the race but ultimately finished second, while Will Power's impressive recovery from the back of the grid earned him third place. The race was marked by numerous incidents and penalties, leading to a challenging day for many drivers, with only 17 of the 25 starters finishing the race.
