McLaren gets refresher of returning F1 track before summer break

Before the summer break, McLaren participated in a two-day TPC test at Portimao with drivers Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, and reserve driver Leonardo Fornaroli. This test allowed the drivers to familiarize themselves with the circuit, which is set to return to the F1 calendar in 2027. Norris, fresh off his first victory of the season at the Hungarian Grand Prix, highlighted the significance of the track for him personally.

Both Norris and Piastri completed their testing programs successfully, with Piastri experiencing Portimao for the first time. The team is looking forward to a break before the season resumes at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort on August 23. The test was seen as a productive way to conclude their pre-summer activities.
