New F1 track poses huge driver traps after 19 red flags stop running at test event

The Madring circuit is set to debut as the new venue for the Spanish Grand Prix on September 13, 2026. During a recent two-day test, F3 cars encountered significant challenges, resulting in 19 red flags due to crashes against the circuit's concrete walls. The testing highlighted the circuit's difficulty, with incidents occurring at multiple turns but notably avoiding the high-speed Monumental corner at Turn 12.

Freddie Slater, part of the Audi driver development program, recorded the fastest time during the test and praised the track's character. The event involved extensive safety measures, including numerous marshals and medical personnel. As the F1 teams prepare for the upcoming race, the Madring is anticipated to provide a unique and demanding experience for drivers and fans alike.
