Unique Las Vegas double-header plan ruled out as F1 considers Qatar and Abu Dhabi alternatives

Formula 1 has decided against a proposed double-header race weekend in Las Vegas due to ongoing uncertainties surrounding the final races of the season in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Political tensions in the Middle East have raised concerns about the viability of these events, prompting discussions about alternative options for the calendar. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has indicated that a decision regarding the Middle Eastern races will be made by mid-September, with the possibility of a European race at Imola being considered as a backup plan.

Currently, the races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi are confirmed and sold out, but if the situation does not improve, F1 will need to adjust its schedule. The organization is focused on ensuring a smooth conclusion to the season, with the aim of providing teams with a timely end to the long racing calendar while maximizing favorable weather conditions for any potential European venue.
