via CrashRed Bull cast verdict on Monaco F1 penalty verdictRed Bull and McLaren successfully appealed against the decision that had removed Pierre Gasly's penalty from the Monaco Grand Prix, leading to Isack Hadjar being reinstated to third place. This decision was significant as it highlighted the importance of consistent enforcement of racing regulations, particularly regarding speed limits in the pit lane. Gasly's position was affected, dropping him to seventh place after the appeal verdict was announced. Laurent Mekies, Red Bull's boss, emphasized that the appeal was crucial not only for Hadjar but also for the integrity of the sport. He expressed satisfaction with the court's ruling, which contradicted the FIA's initial stance on the relevance of speed limit measurements. Mekies also indicated that this outcome could help avoid future disputes over non-appealable race decisions.CrashFri 4 Sep · 12:38 UTCvia f1oversteer.comLiam Lawson expresses frustration over Monza qualifyingLiam Lawson and Red Bull Racing described their Friday practice session in Italy as productive. Lawson had previously stepped in for Hadjar at the Dutch Grand Prix and is now looking to capitalize on this opportunity, having received late confirmation of his participation just days before the race. He feels that his experience from Zandvoort will help him adjust more easily to the car during the upcoming race weekend at Monza, which features a traditional format with three practice sessions. In preparation for the race, Lawson has been balancing his readiness for both the Red Bull and Racing Bulls cars, which he describes as having significant differences in driving characteristics. He highlighted the Red Bull's superior high-speed grip and distinct handling, making the transition between the two cars challenging. Despite the late notice, Lawson managed to complete necessary preparations, including simulator sessions, to ensure he is ready for the race.f1technical.netFri 4 Sep · 12:00 UTCvia gpfans.comFernando Alonso fires warning to F1 and finally reveals what will make him stay at Aston MartinFernando Alonso has expressed concerns about the current state of Formula 1, stating that it does not meet the expectations of drivers or fans. He emphasized that his decision to remain with Aston Martin will depend more on the regulations than on the performance of the car itself, as the team struggles in the constructors' standings. Alonso has been critical of the new regulations, labeling the 2026 cars as the worst he has seen, and he hopes to influence future changes in the sport. As the Italian Grand Prix approaches, Alonso faces challenges, including potential battery issues at the Monza track and Honda's admission of being underpowered compared to competitors. Despite scoring points in the previous race, the outlook for Alonso and Aston Martin remains uncertain as they continue to seek improvements and navigate the current regulations.gpfans.comFri 4 Sep · 11:27 UTCvia CrashMonaco Grand Prix Results Adjusted After Red Bull-McLaren AppealThe results of the Monaco Grand Prix have been revised following a successful appeal by Red Bull and McLaren. On 7 June 2026, having received reports from the Race Director of the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix, counting towards the 2026 FIA Formula One Word Championship, the Stewards decided to impose two five-second time penalties to Car No. 10, driver Pierre Gasly (Documents 73 and 75) for pit-lane speeding during the Race in breach of Article B1.6.3a of the 2026 FIA Formula One Regulations - Section B. On the same day, the Stewards received two petitions for Review under Article 14 of the FIA International Sporting Code from BWT Alpine F1 Team in respect of the aforementioned decisions of the Stewards of the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix. On 12 June 2026, the Stewards determined that there was a significant and relevant new element that was unavailable to them at the time of their decisions contained in Documents 73 and 75. They decided to rescind both 5-second time penalties imposed on Car No. 10 (Document 99), amend the Race Classification (Document 100) and recalculate the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championship points (Document 101). On 16 June 2026, McLaren Racing Limited and Red Bull Racing Limited lodged an appeal against the above Stewards’ Decisions before the ICA. Decision of the International Court of Appeal The Court, after having heard the parties and examined their submissions, decided to: - declare the appeals admissible; - grant the appeals and set aside Decisions No. 1 and 2 dated 12 June 2026 contained in Document 99 of the Stewards of the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix counting towards the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship; - declare that the two five-second time penalties imposed on the driver of Car No. 10, Pierre Gasly, by Documents 73 and 75 stand, and exercising the powers conferred by Articles 14.12.1 and 14.12.2 of the Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, reimpose them; and - order the competent Sporting Authority to draw, as appropriate, the consequences of this ruling, including the amendment of Documents 100 (Revised Final Race Classification) and 101 (Revised Championship Points). The International Court of Appeal was presided over by Mr Michael Grech (Malta), and included, Mr Tomas Borec (Slovakia), Mr Luigi Fumagalli (Italy) and Mr Filippo Marchino (USA/Italy). The full decision is available here . Note to Editors The International Tribunal (IT) and the International Court of Appeal (ICA), comprising 36 judges highly experimented, were established by the FIA as independent jurisdictions in 2011. Their seat is based in Paris. The team has achieved remarkable success in Formula 1, including 16 Constructors' Championships, and continues to honor its legacy with special liveries, such as the one commemorating Michael Schumacher's 1996 Monza victory. The iconic red shade, known as Rosso Corsa, has evolved over the years, but Ferrari has occasionally strayed from it, most notably in 1964 when they raced in blue as a form of protest. Throughout its history, Ferrari has utilized various colors for its cars, including yellow and green, but red remains the hallmark of the brand. The team's commitment to this color reflects its heritage and connection to Italian motorsport. As they prepare for the 2026 Italian Grand Prix, Ferrari's return to a classic red livery highlights the enduring significance of this color in their identity.Formula1.comFri 4 Sep · 10:10 UTCvia RacingNews365Arvid Lindblad reacts to latest Red Bull snubDespite his disappointment, Lindblad understands the team's decision, recognizing that Lawson's familiarity with the car and recent performance provided a logical rationale for continuity. This decision was made by team principal Ayao Komatsu, who noted that Ocon had received new components on two prior occasions, and the allocation is aimed at balancing the season's opportunities rather than favoring one driver over the other. Both drivers will benefit from a significant aerodynamic update, although the impact of the engine difference will be more pronounced at Monza due to its unique layout and demands on engine performance. Ocon has acknowledged that the older engine will result in a performance deficit, and while he will eventually receive the upgraded engine, the current setup will provide a clear comparison of the two power units during the race weekend.grandprix.comFri 4 Sep · 09:47 UTCvia f1oversteer.comCharles Leclerc issues ‘isolate myself’ claim as Ferrari driver reveals personal cost of Italian GPCharles Leclerc, the Ferrari driver, has shared insights into the personal toll of competing at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, where he has experienced immense support from the Tifosi. He emphasizes the importance of isolating himself during the busy race week to recharge, as the demands of the event can be overwhelming, both physically and mentally. Leclerc has won the Italian GP twice, and with Ferrari's upgraded engine, he has the potential to become the second-most successful driver for the team at this event, trailing only Michael Schumacher. Leclerc recalls the exhaustion he felt after his first victory at Monza in 2019, which lingered into the next race. His journey with Ferrari began in 2019 after a successful career in lower racing categories, and he has since established himself as a prominent figure in Formula 1, boasting nine wins and numerous pole positions. The unique atmosphere at Monza, coupled with the pressure of representing Ferrari, makes this race particularly challenging for him.f1oversteer.comFri 4 Sep · 09:00 UTCvia PlanetF1Ferrari introduces engine upgrades at MonzaFerrari has brought four new components and a second ADUO power unit upgrade to the Monza circuit. He argues that despite Red Bull's internal combustion engine being rated the best, it does not represent the overall best power unit in Formula 1, as the ADUO system focuses too narrowly on engine performance alone. Red Bull has yet to secure a race win this season and is currently fourth in the constructors' standings, trailing significantly behind Mercedes. The FIA's single-seater director, Nikolas Tombazis, has acknowledged that the ADUO system may require improvements, admitting that while the system has proven accurate, it has not satisfied all stakeholders. Marko's criticisms highlight a broader concern regarding the maturity of the current regulations, suggesting that a reevaluation is necessary to better reflect the complexities of modern power units, which include not just the combustion engine but also electric components and software.PlanetF1Fri 4 Sep · 06:54 UTCvia f1technical.netHamilton reflects on the "one of his biggest automotive dreams" that he fulfilled at MonzaLewis Hamilton fulfilled a long-held dream by arriving at the Italian Grand Prix in a Ferrari F40, a car he had sought for its authenticity and low mileage. The F40 had remained largely untouched for over three decades, with its original owner driving it only 69 kilometers before parking it. Hamilton found the engine number 44, which coincidentally matches his racing number, adding to the car's significance for him. Hamilton's arrival in the F40 at Monza was not just about racing; it was a celebration of Ferrari's heritage. He expressed a desire to connect the brand's past with its present through creative projects and public appearances. By choosing to drive the F40, Hamilton aimed to highlight the importance of Ferrari's history and create memorable moments for fans and the sport alike.f1technical.netFri 4 Sep · 03:00 UTCvia f1technical.netHamilton reveals how he has helped reshape Ferrari behind the scenesLewis Hamilton has taken on a role at Ferrari focused on improving the team's performance by leveraging his experience from other Formula 1 teams. He believes that progress should come from a collaborative effort rather than emulating past successes like those of Michael Schumacher. Hamilton has actively pushed for changes in car design and operations, utilizing Ferrari's simulator to test new ideas, although some changes face limitations due to financial constraints and established practices within the team. Despite the challenges, Hamilton remains optimistic about the progress made and aims to help Ferrari identify opportunities for improvement. His approach emphasizes recognizing both the strengths and weaknesses of the team, fostering a culture of continuous enhancement rather than attempting to lead a transformation single-handedly.f1technical.netFri 4 Sep · 01:00 UTCvia RaceFansOn This Day: Scarfiotti grabs home win for Ferrari at Monza as Brabham takes title | BriefOn September 4, 1966, Ludovico Scarfiotti achieved a significant milestone by winning the Italian Grand Prix, marking the last occasion an Italian driver has won this prestigious race. Scarfiotti's victory was particularly notable as he drove for Ferrari, a team synonymous with Italian motorsport success. Despite this, the most recent home race win for an Italian driver remains Riccardo Patrese's triumph at the 1990 San Marino Grand Prix. Additionally, while Scarfiotti's win stands out, Mario Andretti, who was born in Italy but later became an American citizen, won the Italian Grand Prix in 1978. The 1966 race also saw Jack Brabham clinch his third and final world championship, adding to the historical significance of the event.RaceFansThu 3 Sep · 23:01 UTC
