F1 handed latest end-of-season hint after key rally axe

The FIA has decided to cancel Rally Saudi Arabia, which was supposed to be the final event of the World Rally Championship for 2026. This decision was made due to ongoing uncertainties in the region affecting logistical arrangements, despite extensive efforts to ensure the rally could proceed. The event will still occur as part of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship, but the WRC element is off the table for this year.

This cancellation raises questions about the upcoming Formula 1 races in the Middle East, particularly as F1's season finale is approaching. The Lusail International Circuit in Qatar is scheduled to host a race on November 29, followed by the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on December 6. The FIA's focus remains on future collaborations with Saudi Arabia, aiming to bring the WRC back in 2027.
