Red Bull urged to sacrifice 2026 and use ‘precious’ advantage to improve Max Verstappen’s 2027 car

Red Bull Racing is being advised to prioritize the development of their 2027 car instead of continuing to focus on the 2026 season. Former F1 driver Christijan Albers emphasized the importance of utilizing their wind tunnel time effectively, especially after Red Bull's mixed results in the constructors' championship. Currently in P4, the team has gained additional wind tunnel allocations due to recent performance adjustments by the FIA.

Albers pointed out that Red Bull's aggressive development strategy in 2025 has affected their 2026 performance, making it crucial for them to shift their focus sooner than competitors like Ferrari. With Max Verstappen unlikely to secure the drivers' title this year, the team is encouraged to leverage their resources to emerge as a strong contender for the 2027 season.
