Will Buxton makes huge Max Verstappen declaration

Max Verstappen secured his first victory of the 2026 season at the Bahrain Grand Prix, marking his 72nd career win in Formula 1. This achievement ties him with Michael Schumacher for second place in all-time Grand Prix victories, with only Lewis Hamilton ahead. The race took place at the Sepang International Circuit, and Verstappen's win is particularly notable as it was the first for Red Bull Powertrains.

Following the race, journalist Will Buxton praised Verstappen, asserting that he is now among the all-time greats in Formula 1. Buxton argued that Verstappen's accomplishments warrant his inclusion on the Mount Rushmore of the sport's greatest drivers, emphasizing the significance of his victories with a single team, Red Bull, in comparison to Schumacher's wins with Ferrari.
