Christian Horner reveals why Adrian Newey relationship was never the same again

Christian Horner has disclosed that his relationship with Adrian Newey shifted significantly in 2014 when Newey contemplated a move to Ferrari. This moment led Horner to feel that he could no longer depend on Newey, despite their long-standing successful partnership at Red Bull, which had resulted in multiple championships.

To retain Newey, Red Bull initiated the Aston Martin Valkyrie project, which allowed Newey to remain engaged with the team. Although they continued to achieve success together, including a championship win in 2021, the trust in their partnership was never fully restored. Newey eventually departed Red Bull in 2024 to become team principal at Aston Martin.
