Leclerc admits Ferrari lacks pace to fight Red Bull, Mercedes and McLaren in Singapore
Image via f1technical.netCharles Leclerc has stated that Ferrari is currently unable to compete with leading teams like Red Bull, Mercedes, and McLaren, despite securing third place on the grid for the Sprint at the Singapore Grand Prix. He believes the team has maximised its performance but acknowledges a decline in competitiveness over recent races, particularly when switching to soft tyres during qualifying.
Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur confirmed that the medium tyres performed better than the softs during the session. He praised Leclerc's efforts but noted that Lewis Hamilton faced difficulties, qualifying sixth. Vasseur anticipates that the Sprint will provide valuable insights for the remainder of the weekend, as Ferrari continues to seek improvements in their performance.
