Red Bull reveal how much potential lies within its own power unit
Image via RacingNews365Red Bull Racing's technical director Pierre Waché has stated that the team has significant untapped potential with its new in-house power unit, despite facing challenges in the early part of the season. This marks the first time Red Bull has developed its own power unit, having previously depended on suppliers like Ferrari and Honda for two decades.
Waché highlighted the complexities of integrating the engine and chassis departments, noting that the collaboration is a learning process. He acknowledged that while the performance of the power unit has not fully met expectations, it has shown promise, particularly in testing. Max Verstappen has achieved back-to-back victories, indicating that the team is on the right path as they work towards enhancing their performance for the future.
