McLaren is reportedly looking to expedite the arrival of Gianpiero Lambiase, currently Max Verstappen's race engineer, to their team ahead of the originally planned 2028 season. Ted Kravitz revealed that Zak Brown is working on a deal with Red Bull to facilitate this move sooner than expected.
Lambiase was initially set to leave Red Bull at the end of the current season and undergo a year of gardening leave before joining McLaren. However, it appears that McLaren is willing to pay a fee to break this arrangement, as Red Bull has already identified Tom McCullough as Lambiase's successor.
