Lando Norris to test McLaren MCL-HY hypercar ahead of Azerbaijan GP

Lando Norris is set to test McLaren's new MCL-HY hypercar at the Algarve International Circuit on September 14. This test is part of McLaren's preparations for their entry into the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will begin in 2027. The MCL-HY is powered by a V6 twin-turbocharged engine that delivers 697 horsepower, with the chassis designed by Dallara.

Norris's upcoming test follows his participation in the Spanish Grand Prix, where he started from pole position but ultimately finished third after losing the lead due to a virtual safety car incident. Kimi Antonelli won the race, extending his championship lead, while Norris remains in fourth place in the standings.
